1. Sequencing: order of succession; a list of books in alphabetical sequence.
2. Writing: to trace or form (characters, letters, words, etc.) on the surface of some material, as with a pen, pencil, or other instrument or means.
3. Phonology: the study of the distribution and patterning of speech sounds in a language and of the tacit rules governing pronunciation.
4. Semantics: the meaning or an interpretation of the meaning of a word, sign, sentence, etc.
5. Syntax: linguistics
- the study of the rules for the formation of grammatical sentences in a language
- the study of the patterns of formation of sentences and phrases from words
- the rules or patterns so studied
6. Text: the main body of matter in a manuscript, book, newspaper, etc., as distinguished from notes, appendixes, headings, illustrations, etc. |
